Trials have shown that Epizym Cattle treatment reduces emissions of ammonia and other odour compounds. The higher N-retention improves the fertiliser value of the slurry, reducing chemical fertiliser requirements.
Ammonia capture also boosts the organic fertiliser value of slurry as ammonia-N is more readily available to the crop. A three-year study in the Netherlands estimates that Epizym treatment can increase crop utilisation of slurry nitrogen from 50% to 60% of the total-N content.
