Deep litter pig pens give problems with odours and ammonia emissions (especially in the spring and summer) which can affect pig performance and annoy neighbours in proximity to the unit. Also cleaning of the floor can be problematical where the slurry binds the straw to the concrete. Epizym Pigs will control ammonia, odours and cleaning out of straw based pig yards.
