Slurry is a valuable fertiliser at the same time as being a potential source of pollution.
As farming faces ever increasing financial, environmental and regulatory pressures, it makes sense to maximise the fertiliser value of your slurry and at the same time make progress towards reducing pollution.
Proper slurry management will enable you to:
- Save money on bought in fertiliser
- Minimise machinery costs
- Reduce slurry management problems such as crusting and build up of floor solids
- Comply with parts of the DEFRA Code of Good Agricultural Practice.
- Spread nutrients evenly across the field as slurry is well mixed - naturally
- Take advantage of weather windows as days of agitation are not needed
- Treated slurry holds it's mixed state for days rather than hours in untreated slurry
